Lower Moreland’s Special Education department consists of the services of school psychologists, speech and language pathologists, occupational and physical therapists as well as a dedicated teaching staff and instructional assistants. This team model of service delivery is based on collaboration, communication and shared responsibility among all team members. Families are considered full team members with all assessments, reports, and services integrated.

The District continues to expand and enhance the special education services offered to address the increase in the number of students needing support. Learning Support programs are offered for students with delays in reading and/or math which are significant enough to impact their regular grade-level performance and Emotional Support programs for students to receive positive behavioral support services. Other Special Education programs include Life Skills Support, Transition Services, Autistic Support, and Academically Talented Education (Gifted Education).
